Get Your RV Ready for the Road with Virginia RV Insurance!

With less than a month to go before the start of Spring, it’s time to start thinking about de-winterizing your outdoor toys.  For all of you campers out there, now is a good time to pull your RV out of storage and get it ready for the road!  Here are some basic tips to help you get ready.

-Remove covers and do a thorough visual inspection.  Check for any damage caused in storage and/or items that are missing or out of place.

-Make sure your inspection sticker is up-to-date.

-Check tire pressure.

-Check and/or install batteries.  Make sure they’re installed properly, top them off with water, and make sure they’re charged.

-Check the water heater and refrigerator to make sure they’re operating properly.

-Check the main propane supply valve for leaks.  If you smell gas or notice a leak, have a propane service person inspect the RV immediately.

-Inspect the interior for any leaks and/or critters that may have gotten inside during the Winter months.

-Check any towing hitches for rust or excessive wear.  Replace or lubricate them as needed. 

-Check fluid levels.

-Fire up the engine and test all lights.

-Flush out the plumbing system.

-Sterilize your fresh water tank using bleach.

-Make sure your Virginia RV insurance is up-to-date!!!

-And most importantly, HAVE FUN!!!!!
