This weekend in Richmond, Virginia, check out the Bizarre Bazaar at the Richmond Raceway Complex! The Bizarre Bazaar is a unique marketplace featuring hundreds of exclusive exhibitors selected from the best craft and gift shows in America. They have plenty of crafts and gifts for upcoming events such as Easter, graduations, Mother's Day, Spring weddings, and birthdays. They also sell a variety of gardening and outdoor accessories.
Also in Richmond this weekend is the Ukrops' Monument Avenue 10k race. It starts on Saturday morning at 8:30 am on the corner of Broad & Harrison Streets. There is also a kid's race that starts at 8 am. There will be an estimated 35,000 participants along with many bands playing music along the course. I was just checking in on the No Phone Zone campaign on Oprah.com and decided to take a quiz concerning the use of cell phones while driving. I got only 3 out of 5 answers correct, and some of the answers shocked me! For example, did you know that talking on the phone while driving is the equivalent of drunk driving? As a person who takes a firm stand against drunk driving, it is mind boggling to me that I am doing essentially the same thing by using my cell phone behind the wheel. Also, 71% of people between the ages of 18 and 49 admit to texting or talking on the phone while driving. If you think about it, that means that 71% of people who have admitted to using a cell phone while driving are "impaired" while driving-- that's a lot of people on the road at any one given time! Progressive Teams Up with Oprah! |

Progressive is teaming up with the Oprah Winfrey Show to support the No Phone Zone campaign. The campaign is designed to promote awareness and educate drivers on the dangers of cell phone use while driving.
According to the US Department of Transportation, nearly 500,000 people are injured and 6,000 are killed each year as a result of driving while talking, texting, or e-mailing. Progressive feels so strongly about this issue that they do not allow their employees to use any electronic equipment while driving on behalf of Progressive.

A customer from Midlothian, Virginia came in to our office on a Saturday after being at the DMV on Johnston Willis Drive all morning. She was upset because she had a cancel pending on her auto insurance and had to make a payment that same day. However, she had just paid an unexpected $85 at DMV to have her license reinstated. DMV told her that she had lapse in coverage, and her license had been suspended. The customer wasn't even aware that her license had been suspended, and after paying the $85 fee at DMV, she could no longer afford to make the entire payment due on her car insurance. Progressive Insurance has a new app ready for download for your iPhone! With the new app, you can access your policy information, report a claim, and even make a payment! The app can also be used to find a local agent, such as us! It will even use the iPhone's navigation to bring you directly to our front door at 11629 Midlothian Turnpike!
Beyond policy information, you can also use the Progressive iPhone app for informational purposes. For example, use the app to assist you when buying a new car. You can view crash test results, recall notices, and the average cost to insure whatever vehicle you choose.
